Two De Soto Charity Events Registering Now

Fall in Bradenton means football, cooler weather, and plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the community—and this year, the Hernando de Soto Historical Society has two great opportunities to have fun while supporting local charitable efforts.

The De Soto Charity Golf Tournament on October 23 and Boards, Bites & Brews Cornhole Tournament on November 21 bring together friends, families, businesses, and community members for two very different days of friendly competition and fundraising.

Both events share the same purpose: bringing people together to support our community. So gather your friends, coworkers, family, or favorite team and make plans to join us for one—or better yet, both—of these fun-filled charity events!

De Soto Charity Golf Tournament — October 23, 2026

Our annual De Soto Charity Golf Tournament is Friday, October 23, 2026, at Heritage Harbour Golf Club.

It’s a day designed to bring people together for great golf, friendly competition, and plenty of opportunities to support the community.

And the fun doesn’t stop when you hit the course!

Throughout the day, golfers can enjoy food, complimentary beverages, and games on the course, along with opportunities to win some great prizes.

There will also be plenty happening after—or between—rounds, including:

Most importantly, your participation helps support De Soto’s charitable fundraising efforts. Proceeds from the Charity Golf Tournament will go to a charity selected by De Soto.

Boards, Bites & Brews Cornhole Tournament — November 21, 2026

Then, on November 21, we’re keeping the fundraising fun going with our annual Boards, Bites & Brews Cornhole Tournament!

This event is a great way to get together with friends, enjoy some friendly competition, and support De Soto’s fundraising efforts.

And with two divisions, you can choose the competition format that fits your team.

Skilled Division

$60 per team of two

For the more serious players, our Skilled Division offers a competitive tournament experience. Sanctioned organizations may bring their own boards and bags and compete for a cash prize based on the total number of participants.

Fun Division

$50 per team of two

The Fun Division is all about showing up, having a great time, and enjoying the day with friends. Players in this division will use De Soto boards and equipment.

The Hernando de Soto Historical Society is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that has been part of the community since 1939. Through fundraising events, sponsorships, and other efforts, De Soto gives back to local charities, organizations, and individuals. The organization distributes more than $50,000 annually through its fundraising efforts.

That means when you register for a tournament, bring your friends, sponsor a team, participate in an auction, or simply show up to enjoy the day, you’re helping make that community support possible.
