The 2026 Giving Challenge is here, and it’s your chance to be part of something truly meaningful in Manatee County. Presented by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and strengthened by The Patterson Foundation, this 24-hour online event connects hundreds of nonprofits with passionate donors to create lasting impact across our community.

As proud members of the Hernando de Soto Historical Society, we are committed to making a difference right here at home. Our fundraising efforts support our sister organization, the Conquistador Historical Foundation, which annually donates to local charities, funds Queen’s Court scholarships, supports a student exchange scholarship program with Barcarrota, Spain (Bradenton’s sister city), and provides educational and mentorship programs for local youth.

We are proud to reinvest over $50,000 annually back into Manatee County, directly impacting students and families in our community.

In order to envision the future, one must first invest in the next generation. Through scholarships and cultural exchange opportunities, we are helping young leaders grow, learn, and carry our traditions forward.

As we look ahead, Conquistador Square remains our long-term vision—a place where history is preserved, heritage is sustained, and our community can gather for generations to come.
