Boards, Bites & Brews 2025:

A Day Full of Fun, Flavor, and Friendly Competition

The Crewe of De Soto’s Boards, Bites & Brews Cornhole Tournament at The Yard at the Palmetto Marriott on Saturday, November 1, 2025, brought together locals and visitors for a day packed with laughter, great food, and good-natured competition. Presented by Stewart Tennis Courts & Fencing, Inc., this annual event once again delivered an unforgettable experience filled with community spirit and plenty of smiles.

The Perfect Setting at The Yard

The scenic Yard at the Palmetto Marriott set the stage for an incredible day under the Florida sunshine. Players tossed bags surrounded by palm trees, fresh air, and the relaxed coastal charm that makes this venue a local favorite. Whether you were competing, cheering, or just soaking in the atmosphere, The Yard offered the perfect balance of energy and ease — the ideal place to play, gather, and unwind.

Great Food, Great Drinks, Great Company

No one left hungry thanks to a mouth-watering lineup of food and refreshments. Guests enjoyed cheeseburgers, hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, and bratwurst sandwiches donated by Geier’s Sausages, along with wings generously provided by Jaxx Sports Bar & Grill. Add in a Brew Garden stocked with cold beers and full-service refreshments, and it was easy to see why so many people call this event their favorite way to spend a fall Saturday.

Competition and Camaraderie

From the Skilled Division to the Fun Division, teams brought their best tosses — and their best sportsmanship. The sound of cheering and laughter echoed across the yard as players celebrated big wins and close calls alike. One of the highlights of the day was the lively “Pile-It-On” Contest, which kept the crowd laughing and the competition fierce. Whether chasing bragging rights or just there for the fun, everyone embodied the friendly, community-first spirit the Crewe of De Soto is known for.

Smiles All Around

The tournament may have been about cornhole, but it was the smiles, laughter, and connections that made the day truly special. From long-time locals to first-time visitors, everyone left with new memories and a renewed appreciation for what makes the Manatee County community so unique — friendship, fun, and a shared love of giving back.
