This year’s DeSoto Court Princess Jordan Rowland brings more than just charm to the Queen’s Court—she brings a symphony of talents, a resume packed with leadership roles, and a heart devoted to giving back.
She plays more than 10 instruments—from clarinet to cajón—and has performed in musical theatre for 7 years. In high school, she was a standout student, presiding over every major club—National Honor Society, Hispanic Honor Society, Beta Club, Drama Club, and more—while also serving as Worship Team Leader. Oh, and she holds a spot in the Guinness World Record for participating in the largest group hug!
On top of all that? She played competitive basketball for a decade, does professional nail art, and competes in Valorant esports.
This is not your average Princess. This is a powerhouse.
Her favorite memory? Night to Shine, a prom night for individuals with special needs hosted by Bayside Community Church in East Bradenton.
“Seeing the prom-goers’ faces light up as they got off the buses and interacting with them was so rewarding. It was amazing to bond with the girls on Court that night and truly experience ‘DeSoto life’ for the first time.”
That night, the Queen’s Court arrived dressed in elegant formalwear while the DeSoto Crewe stood in full historical regalia. As honored guests arrived, the Crewe lifted their swords to create a tunnel over the red carpet—a regal welcome and a beautiful example of DeSoto’s mission in action. It wasn’t just ceremonial; it was personal, joyful, and deeply impactful.
What makes the Hernando DeSoto Historical Society special isn’t just its parades or pageants. It’s the people behind the crown—volunteers like this Princess—who are making a difference in the lives of others every single day.
By blending heritage with heart, the Society champions philanthropy, education, and inclusion in a way that brings the entire community together. And the best part? You can be part of it.
Whether you’re inspired by the service of the Queen’s Court or the community impact of DeSoto’s outreach, there’s a way for you to get involved. Volunteer at events, sponsor a Court member, or attend a fundraiser. Your time and support help preserve tradition—and build a brighter future.
