Queen with a Cause

Madyson Greeman Brings Grace, Grit, and Heart to the DeSoto Crown

When Madyson Greeman was crowned DeSoto Queen, she stepped into more than a title—she stepped into a legacy of leadership, tradition, and heartfelt community service.

At just 19, Madyson already carries a resume that reads like someone twice her age. A 2024 graduate of Parrish Community High School, she served as Senior Class President, was captain of both the varsity cheerleading and track & field teams, and made her mark as Editor of the school newspaper. Her talents in storytelling and leadership even earned her a Golden Herald Award nomination in Journalism.

Now, as a Journalism major at the University of Central Florida, Madyson continues to use her voice with purpose. Whether it’s writing, cheering, running track, or serving her community, Madyson leads with passion and heart.

A Queen Who’s Not Afraid to Fly—Literally

Among her fun facts? Madyson danced for 14 years, went skydiving, and was a team captain for two varsity sports. Her blend of boldness and discipline makes her not just a queen by crown, but by character.

Favorite Memory: A Week of Unity and Sisterhood

“My favorite memory in Queen’s Court was definitely Festival Week. All of us bonded the most during that week and became each other’s biggest supporters. We shared tears, laughter, and so many memories. I truly loved the connection we all formed!”

Madyson’s reflection reveals the heart of the DeSoto Queen’s Court—it’s about more than appearances. It’s about sisterhood, support, and stepping up to serve something greater than yourself.

Beyond the Crown: Giving Back Through DeSoto

As DeSoto Queen, Madyson plays a vital role in the Hernando DeSoto Historical Society’s ongoing philanthropic mission. The Society is known for its iconic parades and celebrations, but behind the scenes, it’s an engine of community service—supporting local schools, nonprofits, inclusion programs, and emergency response efforts.

Through events like Night to Shine (a prom experience for individuals with special needs), food drives, and educational outreach, the Queen and Court are active participants—not just attendees. They show up in regalia and formalwear, but more importantly, they show up with compassion, purpose, and pride.

A Legacy You Can Join

Madyson’s journey is a reminder that the DeSoto legacy isn’t reserved for a select few—it’s an open invitation to the entire community. Whether you’re a student, a parent, a business owner, or someone who simply wants to give back, there’s a place for you.

If you’ve ever been inspired by local tradition or wanted to make a meaningful impact right here in Manatee County, now’s the time to get involved.
