Experience an evening of timeless tradition and grandeur at the highly anticipated De Soto Ball. Presented by Manatee Memorial Hospital and the Manatee Memorial Foundation, Inc., and hosted by the Hernando de Soto Historical Society, this black-tie affair promises a night of elegance, celebration, and historical reverence as the 78th Hernando de Soto is honored and a Queen is crowned.
Mark your calendars for Friday, April 25th, as the 2025 Hernando de Soto Heritage Festival continues its legacy of grandeur. This year, Finch Roofing joins as a proud sponsor. The event welcomes Krewes from near and far, including Anna Maria Island, Tampa, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City, Pensacola Beach, Tallahassee, St. Paul, Minnesota, Calgary, Canada, and Barcarrota, Spain. As guests don their finest attire, visiting Krewes will showcase their official Krewe uniforms, complete with personalized jeweled dress trains, a breathtaking tribute to the regal traditions of the 1500s, making the De Soto Ball a truly spectacular affair.
For decades, this dazzling event has held its place as one of Manatee County’s most prestigious social gatherings. Open to the public, attendees can select between a Dinner, Ball & Show ticket, or a Ball & Show ticket, each offering access to an exquisite open bar. Guests will indulge in a sophisticated selection of premium wines, top-shelf spirits, and craft beers, ensuring that every sip complements the evening’s refined ambiance. Whether savoring a velvety red wine, a crisp champagne toast, or a masterfully mixed cocktail, the open bar elevates the night with an air of indulgence and celebration.
This year, we are also excited to introduce the Lil’ Caballeros, a new initiative inviting young boys, ages 7-10, to join the annual De Soto Heritage Festival. This mentoring program is designed to foster self-confidence, proper etiquette, and leadership qualities, helping each boy grow into a respectful and well-rounded gentleman. Their participation adds another layer of tradition and community spirit to the festivities.
Excitement builds as the 2025 Queen’s Court—Madyson Carol Greeman, Hailey Jade Hurd, Hailey Nicole Kerns, Julianna Marie Mancusi, Ryann Bethany Price, Jordan Ashley Rowland, Taryn Elizabeth Shawley, Alexia Aubrielle Templet, and Grace Ann Tripp—grace the stage with their Conquistadorables after months of preparation. From among these distinguished young women, a Queen and Princess will be crowned, a defining moment of the night.
