Due to Hurricane Milton and its effects on the community, we have decided to postpone the 25th Annual De Soto Charity Golf Tournament. Many in our community have been affected, and we want to prioritize everyone’s well-being. We will announce a new date soon. Our hearts go out to all those impacted during this challenging time.
The Hernando de Soto Historical Society invites hardworking men and women, ages 21 and older, to consider becoming part of their esteemed organization. Membership is open to those who share a passion for community service and a dedication to preserving local heritage. Applications for new members open on Monday, July 15th, offering an opportunity to contribute to something larger than oneself.
“We are looking for individuals who are excited to join a family of like-minded volunteers,” Gus Sokos continues. “Whether you’re drawn to event planning, community outreach, or simply want to make lasting friendships, there’s a place for you here.”
– “Joining De Soto was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Being able to give back to the community in the ways we do is so rewarding, and the brotherhood that comes along with being in De Soto is something I’ll have forever.” – Chris Welles
– “We were looking for a way to meet new people and get involved together. We are having a lot of fun and are meeting people we will be friends with for life. So glad we made the decision to join this amazing group!” – Amy and Bill Temple
– “Since I have left my friends in college, and my brothers and sisters in the Marine Corps, I have been without a brotherhood to call my own. I have found that again with the Conquistadors and love how much we help the community and how welcoming everyone is.” – Alex Rutland
