The Queen Selection Program, Wednesday April 24, 2024, presented by NDC Construction, is a staple event for the Annual De Soto Heritage Festival. The 2024 Hernando de Soto Heritage Festival is proudly presented by Oysters Rock Hospitality, Cafe L’Europe, and Anna Maria Oyster Bar.
Each year, the Hernando de Soto Historical Society selects young women from the community to represent their organization on the Queen’s Court. They spend four months getting to learn the history of Hernando de Soto and Bradenton, Florida, as well as engaging in leadership, community networking and public speaking. They meet members within the organization and are mentors for their paired Conquistadorables who are between the ages of 7 and 10.
The Queen Selection Program is a night you’ll want to bring the entire family. You can watch as the amazing young ladies of the Queen’s Court showcase their personality and answer on stage questions. There will be music, entertainment, special guests, and the crowning of their little Conquistadorables.
Not only will they get to walk the runway in their official outfits, but each will grace the stage in a gown of their choosing, which is a truly stunning sight. The on-stage questions are fun and interactive, and you might even learn something about Hernando de Soto!
This is a big night for the Queen’s Court ladies, as this is night two for voting by the members. The ladies on this year’s court are Briana Bird, Kadynce Bivins, Kinsey Bunce, Taylor Clarkson, Morgan Johnson, Taryn Shawley, and Alexis Williams. You can support them by cheering them on in the crowd!
Among these young ladies, a Queen and Princess will be selected and crowned at the De Soto Coronation Ball. They will spend one year traveling, attending Festivals and events, promoting the Hernando de Soto Historical Society, and building connections around the world.
