Step into a world of elegance and celebration as the Crewe of De Soto extends a gracious invitation to an enchanting black-tie affair. The Desoto Ball, presented by Manatee Memorial Hospital and the Manatee Memorial Foundation, Inc, and hosted by the Hernando de Soto Historical Society, guarantees an unforgettable evening filled with tradition as they honor the 77th Hernando de Soto and crown a Queen.
The 2024 Hernando de Soto Heritage Festival is proudly presented by Oysters Rock Hospitality, Cafe L’Europe, and Anna Maria Oyster Bar. This year’s gathering welcomes Krewes from near and far, including Anna Maria Island, Tampa, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City, Pensacola Beach, Tallahassee, St. Paul Minnesota, Calgary, Canada, and Barcarrota, Spain. As guests dress in their finest attire, visiting Krewes will adorn themselves in their official Krewe uniforms, a captivating display reminiscent of city founders from the 1500s, complete with personalized jeweled dress trains, creating a captivating display that epitomizes the uniqueness of the De Soto Ball.
For decades, this glittering affair has held its place as one of Manatee County’s most prestigious social events. Open to the public, attendees can choose between a Dinner, Ball & Show ticket, or simply a Ball & Show ticket, complete with an open bar. Those opting for the dinner option will enjoy closer seating and earlier admission, savoring a culinary delight featuring a grilled 8oz Tenderloin Filet, House Salad, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Mixed Grilled Vegetables, and a Dinner Roll. They will also have the pleasure of watching special guest, American Idol Recording artist, Sam Woolf perform during dinner.
The anticipation builds as the 2024 Queen’s Court ladies, Briana Bird, Kinsey Bunce, Taylor Clarkson, Morgan Johnson, Taryn Shawley, Alexis Williams and their Conquistadorables take center stage after months of preparation. Among these accomplished individuals, a Queen and Princess will be crowned, marking a momentous highlight of the evening. Join the new Royal Family and the Crewe for an evening of dancing and entertainment by Shaman, with more performances by Sam Woolf.
