HERNANDO DE SOTO HISTORICAL SOCIETY Queen Alysha Grace O'Dell

Queen Alysha Grace O'Dell

Alysha is the 19 year old daughter of Keltie and John O’Dell of Palmetto. She stands 5’6” with dark blonde hair and blue eyes. She enjoys volleyball, reading, volunteering and working out. A graduate of Manatee High School, Alysha won the Golden Herald Award in Citizenship, was in the Top 11% of her class, member of the Medical Arts Academy and Key Club. She participated on the volleyball, basketball, softball, track and weightlifting teams. Alysha attends Bayside Community Church where she is involved in Downtown Ministries and won the Herald Tribune Preps Passion Award for her work with the homeless. She also volunteered at Manatee Memorial Hospital. Alysha is attending State College of Florida where she is a member of the volleyball team, Concert Choir and named to the Dean’s List. She seeks degrees in Nursing and Health Services Administration and plans to be a Nurse Practitioner.

Princess Halley Sue Lawrence

Halley is the 18 year old daughter of Jennifer Sommers of Palmetto. She stands 5’3’ with brown hair and eyes and her hobbies are cheerleading, weightlifting and spending time with her family. Halley is a graduate of Palmetto High School where she was President of Student Government, a Varsity Cheerleader, UCA All American Cheerleader, Honor Roll, Varsity Weightlifter, National Honor Society, and President of the Country Hog 4-H Club. She served as Senior Class Commencement Speaker, was Miss Palmetto High School and the 2010 Little Miss Manatee County Fair Queen. Halley is a scholarship recipient to Hillsborough Community College. She plans to transfer to the University of South Florida with a major in Elementary Education and teach Kindergarten after graduation.
Danielle Arin Adams

Danielle Arin Adams

Danielle is the 18 year old daughter of Tamara and Mark Adams. She is 5’3” with light brown hair and green eyes. A graduate of Manatee School for the Arts, her interests include dancing, fishing, boating and fitness. Danielle attends State College of Florida where she is academically on the President’s List and Dean’s List. Her future plans are to graduate from the State College of Florida and pursue a career in Occupational Therapy.

Katelyn Marie Carothers

Katelyn Marie Carothers

Katelyn is the 19 year old daughter of Kelly and Andrew Carothers. She is 5”10” with brown hair and brown eyes and enjoys playing softball, being outdoors, reading and volunteering. Katelyn is a graduate of Lakewood Ranch High School and is currently attending State College of Florida seeking an Associate in Arts Degree, prior to transferring to the University of Florida to earn a B.S. in Nursing. Her career plans are in the field of Obstetrics.

Marissa Joanna Hulsart

Marissa Joanna Hulsart

Marissa is the 20 year old daughter of Joanne and Cliff Hulsart. She is 5’4” with blond hair and green eyes and her interests include scuba diving, equestrian trail riding, gaming, boating and costume design. A graduate of Braden River High School, Marissa is now a sophomore at the State College of Florida where she is on the Dean’s List and a member of the Earth Club. After completing her studies in the area of technology she will pursue a career in the field of Virtual Reality Systems.

Natavia Aliana Kelley

Ali is the 19 year old daughter of Michelle Haag and Nathan Kelley. She is 4’11” with brown hair and brown eyes and enjoys working out and fitness. After graduating from Palmetto High School, Ali is now attending the State College of Florida where she is completing her Associate in Arts Degree. With a passion for helping people in her community, she plans to transfer to the University of South Florida and ultimately work in the field of Pharmaceutical Sales.

Molly Elisabeth Kopinsky

Molly Elisabeth Kopinsky

Molly is the 19 year old daughter of Lori and Glenn Kopinsky. She is 5’5” with brown hair and brown eyes and her hobbies include dancing, photography and artistic activities. Molly graduated from Manatee High School where she was dual enrolled with the State College of Florida and will receive her A.A. Degree in April while being named to the President’s List. Her future plans are to continue her education in the field of Graphic Design.

Annabel Claire Russo

Annabel Claire Russo

Annabel is the 20 year old daughter of Lee Ann and Richard Russo. She is 5’7” with blond hair and hazel eyes. Her interests include soccer, playing the violin, attending spors events, enjoying friends and family and shopping. A graduate of Palmetto High School, Annabel was President of her class all 4 years of school. Annabel will graduate from the State College of Florida and transfer to the University of Florida to earn a B.A. Degree in Telecommunications to pursue her dream of becoming a Sports Broadcaster.

Langston Victoria Sellars

Langston is the 19-year-old daughter of Pepper and Brian Sellars of Myakka City. She is 5’5” with light brown hair and blue eyes and enjoys bike riding, hiking, traveling and cosmetics. A graduate of Lakewood Ranch High School, Langston completed her education with a 4.0 GPA while participating in State and National Competitions with Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. She was also a member of the Future Farmers of America, on the Dean’s List, received the TEACH Scholarship and received her National Child Development Associate in Early Childhood Education. She attends Bayside Community Church and volunteers at the Myakka City Community Center. Langston attends State College of Florida where she is still maintaining her 4.0 GPA. She seeks a B.S. in Nursing and plans to enter the field of Pediatric Oncology.

Claire Alicia Strickland

Claire is the 20-year-old daughter of Lesli and Daniel Strickland of Parrish. She is 5’10” with blond hair and brown eyes and is a 7th generation native of Manatee County. Her interests include working out, spending time with friends, family and 4 dogs and making her Mother laugh. A graduate of Palmetto High School, Claire was the High School Mascot her senior year and member of National Honor Society, Key Club and 4 H of Manatee County. She participated in Swine Projects and the Land Judging Team. She attends the First Baptist Church of Palmetto, works with Wee World and King’s Kids and volunteers for many community activities. Claire won a Bright Futures Scholarship and is attending the University of South Florida studying Accounting. Her future plans are to start an Agri- Accounting Firm in Manatee County.
