HEART

The Hernando de Soto Historical Society is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1939 and consists of volunteer members who foster and facilitate an appreciation of Manatee County’s Spanish – American heritage. Through fundraising events and sponsorships we are able to provide educational opportunities and donate to local charities, organizations and individuals.

Hernando de Soto Childrens Parade

CHILDREN'S PARADE & PARTY IN THE PARK

One of the most adorable and heart-warming events you’ll ever see, this Parade puts the kids in charge.  It’s pure and wholesome fun as floats engineered and built in schoolrooms and at home parade along the historic avenues of Palmetto, from the Manatee County Fairgrounds, south on 10th Avenue West and then along Fifth Street West to Lamb Park.

Hernando de Soto Historical Society Queen Selection Program

QUEEN SELECTION PROGRAM

The Queen’s Selection Program is a night you want to bring the whole family to!  Watch, as these amazing, young ladies of the Queen’s Court model a variety of styles and answer on stage questions. Includes Hors d’oeuvres, music, entertainment, special guests, and the presentation of the Lil’ Caballeros and the De Soto Conquistadorables.
